To better assist in diagnosing Language and Coded Character Set Identifier (CCSID) related issues we need to gather information about your current settings. Use the steps that follow to capture four different types of settings information.
System i Settings
Collect the system values displayed by issuing the following commands:
DSPSYSVAL QCCSID DSPSYSVAL QLANGID DSPSYSVAL QCNTRYID DSPSYSVAL QLOCALE
Issue the following command to display the SEQUEL translation data area:
Issue the following command to display the Esend translation data area:
Host Job Settings
To capture information for the interactive, batch or server jobs involved in a process issue the following command:
Page down to the second page and capture the Language ID and Country or region ID values.
Page down to the third page and capture the Coded character set ID.
Local PC Settings
Open IBM i Access for Windows Properties\Language tab.

5250 Emulator (System i Access) Settings
From the emulator window menu, select the option Communication\Configure... like so:
