New release enhances data warehouse management for users

Minneapolis, MN, February 8, 2016—HelpSystems, a leading provider of systems management, business intelligence, and security solutions, announced today an update to SEQUEL Data Warehouse (formerly RODIN), the industry-leading tool for data warehousing on IBM i. Version 8.0 introduces new and enhanced features that make it easier than ever to build and manage a data warehouse.

With SEQUEL Data Warehouse 8.0, event monitoring and error notification is significantly improved and expanded. Users can now receive automatic notifications whenever an event, such as a failed load, occurs.

“The better the notifications are, the easier it is to manage a data warehouse,” said Alan Jordan, Senior Development Manager, HelpSystems. “These enhancements give our customers better tools to monitor the data warehouse processes and ensure it always runs as expected.”

The latest update to SEQUEL Data Warehouse also makes project management within the data warehouse easier, modernizes the user interface, and includes updates to several other features.

HelpSystems offers a free 30-day trial of SEQUEL Data Warehouse, which includes full product access and support.

Long-time security expert, Pat Botz, recently joined HelpSystems. Botz goes way back in the computer industry. He wrote the Basic compiler and CAD tools for Control Data supercomputers and then lead the development of CAD tools for its AIX workstation line three decades ago. He eventually became a lead security architect for the IBM i platform, and left Big Blue a number of years ago to start his own security firm, Botz & Associates. Dan sat down to have a chat with Chris Heim, chief executive officer of HelpSystems, and John Vanderwall, vice president and business unit manager for security services at the company, as well as Botz, who now has a senior security services consultant position at the company.
