Taking the Plunge for Special Olympics Minnesota

Special Olympics Minnesota, in partnership with the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee (MNSBHC), presented this unique opportunity for residents, businesses, sports figures, celebrities and visitors to participate in “The Bold North” celebration during the festival leading up the big game — a Polar Plunge during Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon. Special Olympics Minnesota’s signature winter event, the Polar Plunge, showcases participants jumping into a body of water and raising funds that support more than 8,200 individuals with intellectual disabilities across the state. 700 Polar Plungers took the icy dip in 25 degree weather, raising $200,000 for Special Olympics Minnesota!

32 HelpSystems Polar Plungers raised $9,420 for Special Olympics Minnesota. Along with HelpSystem’s $5,000 corporate sponsorship, that came to a total of $14,420. Funds raised through the Polar Plunge go to support not only year round sports training and competition for people with intellectual disabilities, but also initiatives that encourage health, leadership and inclusion.

HelpSystems is proud to support such an incredible organization!
