This internet-based, recorded, instructor-led class teaches you how to use IBM i security tools and create a sound security strategy for your IBM i server.

This course is designed for programmers, system administrators, data center supervisors, operators, and anyone else who needs to learn more about IBM i security configuration.
Course Summary
This is a 4-1/2-hour, recorded training that you can take at your own pace. Allowing time for breaks and exercises, the course takes approximately five hours to complete.
During your sessions, you'll perform the following tasks and cover the following concepts:
- View security components
- Manage user and group profiles
- Manage authorization lists
- Work with system values that affect security
- Understand IBM i object security
- Understand Integrated File System (IFS) security
- Use the Security Tools menu
- Secure output queues
- Set up and read the security audit journal
- Understand single signon strategy
- Monitor server security using exit points
- Firewall and port concepts
- Look at security from a Sarbanes-Oxley viewpoint
Prerequisites
Operations 101 or equivalent experience with an IBM i server.
Access to an IBM i green screen interface to complete the exercises.
