Updating Help/Systems Products
Before You Begin
Sign on under a user profile that is a member of the user class *SECOFR and has at least the following special authorities: *ALLOBJ, *SECADM, *JOBCTL, and *IOSYSCFG. The user profile should have Limit capabilities set to *NO. Make sure no users are signed on to the product you are updating.
End all Help/Systems products. The update process may stop the RBTSLEEPER subsystem. Because it is used by other Help/Systems products, stopping RBTSLEEPER interrupts processing by these products.
Enter the following command:
RBTCDRLIB/HLPCDMENU
This displays the Maintain Help/Systems Products menu.
Updating a Product
- Select option 2 from the Maintain Help/Systems Products panel.
- Enter a 1 next to the product you want to update. This displays the Update Instructions. Read the section headed Before You Begin for any specific information you need before you update a product.
- When you are ready to begin your update, enter a 2 next to the product you want to update.
The Update Products panel displays with a list of all installed Help/Systems products.
You can print the Update Instructions for reference by pressing function key 14.
The update program updates the selected product on your system and the Robot System Library (RBTSYSLIB), if necessary.
Note: You do not need to select to update the Robot System Library (RBTSYSLIB) unless you have been instructed to do so by Help/Systems.
When the update completes, the Update Instructions display again. Read the section headed After You Are Done for any additional information or instructions.
