Moving Robot/SAVE Setup Only to Another System
Before You Begin
This Help/FACTS describes how to move Robot/SAVE 11 setup information only to another system on which it is not currently installed.
Steps to Move Robot/SAVE Setup
On the source system
Note: If the system you are moving is a data center participant (DCP) in a Robot/SAVE data center, exclude the system from the data center before proceeding. If the system you are moving is the data center management system (DCMS), you must transfer it to another system. For more information on working with data centers, see the Robot/SAVE User Guide.
- End the Robot/SAVE monitor jobs
- Save the following Robot/SAVE and Robot/CORRAL libraries to tape or save file: RBSDTALIB, RBSPGMLIB, RBSKEYLIB, RBTROLLIB.
- If no other Robot products are installed on your target system, you also must save the Robot system library, RBTSYSLIB.
On the target system
If no other Robot products are installed on the target system, do Steps 1, 2, and 3; otherwise skip to Step 4.
- Restore the Robot system library using the following command:
- Add RBTSYSLIB to the system library list (it doesn’t have to be first):
- Enter the following command to create the user profiles RBTADMIN and RBTUSER:
- Enter the following restore commands. It is extremely important to restore the libraries in the order shown.
- If the target system name is different from the source system, you must run the following command to change the system name in Robot/SAVE files.
- Enter a valid security code. (Enter RBO on a command line, press function key 10, and enter option 1 next to Robot/SAVE.)
- Enter the following command to remove old system names:
- Enter the following command to remove old history:
- Manually remove all tapes from Robot/SAVE.
RSTLIB RBTSYSLIB
CHGSYSLIBL RBTSYSLIB
CALL RSL062
RSTLIB RBSDTALIB
RSTLIB RBSPGMLIB
RSTLIB RBSKEYLIB (used only in version 11 for encryption)
RSTLIB RBTROLLIB
RSLCHGSYSN
where Product = ROBOTSAV.
CLRPFM RBSPGMLIB/RBSAC
CLRPFM RBSPGMLIB/RBSOH
After you have completed these steps, be sure to review your setup in Robot/SAVE. Some things you should check are:
- Devices (the target system may use a different resource or a different device)
- Media descriptions
- Locations
- Move sets
- Libraries defined to back up classes and sets
