Determining the Number of Processors On Your System i

Introduction

This document describes how to determine the number of processors on your System i.

Download and Use the SYSINFO Setup Wizard

To determine the number of processors on your System i, you must download software from the Help/Systems Web site. To download and use the software, do the following:

  1. In a Web browser, use the following URL to access the Help/Systems Web site and download the SYSINFO Setup Wizard software to your PC by following the instructions on the Web page.
  2. http://www.helpsystems.com/downloads/display-system-info

  3. When the download is complete, double-click on the SYSINFO.exe file to display the SYSINFO Setup Wizard. Follow the instructions in the wizard to display the Robot Product Maintenance Wizard and copy the DSPSYSINF library to your System i. This library contains the software to determine the number of processors on your System i. Click Finish when you are done.
  4. Note: When you click Finish, the SYSINFO Setup Wizard removes any files it extracted to your PC. You can reuse the SYSINFO Setup Wizard to copy the DSPSYSINF library to other systems where you need to determine the number of processors.

  5. Sign on to the System i where you copied the DSPSYSINF library and enter the following command on a command line: ds psysinf /ds psysinf
  6. The Display System Information panel displays the number of processors on the system in the Number of System Processors field.

  7. Take a print screen of the Display System Information panel and e-mail it to the Help/Systems employee who requested the information.
  8. After you are done, you can use the following command to delete the DSPSYSINF library (optional):
  9. DLTLIB DSPSYSINF
