Changing the System Name in Robot/NETWORK 9.0

Changing the Name of the Host System

  1. On the Host System, do the following:
    • Select Option 6, System Setup Menu, from the Robot/NETWORK Main Menu.
    • Select Option 1, Maintain Network Systems, from the Host System Setup Menu. This displays the Network Systems List panel.
    • Delete all the systems on the Network Systems List panel.
    • Exit from Robot/NETWORK.
  2. From the AS/400 command line, do the following:
    • Enter the following command:
    • CALL RBNHCLEAN

    • Verify that all Robot/NETWORK objects have been removed from your system. See the section “Objects Created by Robot/NETWORK” in the Appendix of the Robot/NETWORK User Guide for a list of Robot/NETWORK objects. If any objects still exist on your system, you can delete them manually.
    • Delete the RBTNETLIB and RBTNETNODE libraries.
  3. On each of the Node systems, do the following:
    • Enter the following command to clear all queues starting with RBN:
    • WRKDSTQ

    • Enter the following command:
    • CALL RBNNCLEAN

    • Delete the RBTNETNODE library.
  4. On the Host and each Node system, run the RSLCHGSYSN command against ROBOT. The Old System Name is the old system name of the Host system. The New System Name is the new system name of the Host system.
  5. Reinstall Robot/NETWORK following the installation instructions that came with your CD or tape. This is a NEW install of Robot/NETWORK.

Changing the Name of a Node System

  1. On the Host system, do the following:
    • Select Option 6, System Setup Menu, from the Robot/NETWORK Main Menu.
    • Select Option 1, Maintain Network Systems, from the Host System Setup Menu. This displays the Network Systems List panel.
    • Delete the Node system whose name is being changed.
    • Exit from Robot/NETWORK.
  2. From the AS/400 command line, do the following:
    • Enter the following command:
    • CALL RBNNCLEAN

    • Verify that all Robot/NETWORK objects have been removed from your system. See the section “Objects Created by Robot/NETWORK” in the Appendix of the Robot/NETWORK User Guide for a list of Robot/NETWORK objects. If any objects still exist on your system,
    • you can delete them manually.
    • Delete the RBTNETNODE library.
  3. Install Robot/NETWORK on the Node system and configure it following the instructions that came with your CD or tape.
  4. On all Nodes (including the Host), run the RSLCHGSYSN command against ROBOT. The Old System Name is the old system name of the Node system. The New System Name is the new system name of the Node system.
  5. On the Host system, configure Robot/NETWORK by following the instructions that came with your CD or tape.
