Description
This class provides an introduction to work management on the System i and the elements involved in processing a job. You will gain a basic understanding of the functions included in work management and how they affect the performance of jobs on your system. You will learn about objects such as subsystem descriptions, routing entries, job queues, and job classes.
Find out how these system objects work together to get work done on your system so that jobs run efficiently and smoothly. Learn how to monitor and manage subsystems for performance bottlenecks and fix those areas that need tuning.
You can take this class at 1 p.m. Central time on:

System Operators, System Administrators, and anyone who needs a basic understanding of work management and performance tuning on the System i should attend.

Length
The class has two, 2-hour sessions.Prerequisites
1. A high-speed Internet connection (DSL, cable modem, or T1).
2. A screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher.

Each person who wants to take the class must register. Class size is limited to give participants the individual attention they need. Registration is required at least 72 hours before the class. You can cancel your registration up to 72 hours before the class without penalty. No-shows will be billed.
