Description
Presenters: Chuck Losinski, Product Support Manager, and Jeff Pedretti, Technical Consultant.
Do you know which objects and directories are consuming the most disk space on your system? Do you know which ones are growing the fastest? How about which profile accounts for the most disk consumption? Or, which job consumes all your temporary storage?
This one-hour Webinar helps you answer these questions, and many more!
We'll demonstrate how Robot/SPACE can show you:
- Newly added libraries, and directories and objects in the IFS.
- The largest object in either the IFS or your libraries.
- Which profiles own the most disk space.
- How much your IFS or library storage is growing from week to week (in total, or by directory or library).
- How to age IFS objects and report or delete them.
- How to track temporary storage.
- A graph that shows trends in object growth.
- Today’s growth compared to eight weeks ago.
- Information you can copy to an Excel spreadsheet.
The IFS presents a challenge for most system administrators. Many people still use older disk tools that don’t take IFS consumption into account. And, many administrators don't even realize that this is a potential area of concern. What exactly is stored in the IFS? An amazing array of things end up there, including log files, software installations, business application data (SAP, EnterpriseOne, Lawson, and more), WebSphere, and loads of Windows objects from users.
While the IFS is unknown territory for many administrators, Robot/SPACE also keeps track of more familiar parts of your disk space, including libraries, temporary storage, spooled files, iASP, members, files, and overall ASP consumption. When you store unneeded objects, the wasted disk space costs you money because of unnecessary upgrades and processes, such as backups, that run longer.
You'll have opportunities during the presentation to tell us about your disk management needs.
