Who should attend
This training course is specially designed for System i administrators and System i users who will be involved in planning and upgrading a system to V6R1.
Course summary
You'll become familiar with what's involved in upgrading to V6R1 and learn how to determine if your system meets the requirements for an upgrade to V6R1, including basic planning, preparation, installation, and post-installation steps.

This class will cover the following topics:
- Overview of what's new in V6R1
- Determining system requirements
- Planning for the upgrade
- Preparing an image catalog to perform the upgrade
- Preparing your system for the upgrade
- Walk-through of the upgrade process
- Discussing post-upgrade tasks
Length
Five hours over four dates.
1. A high-speed Internet connection (DSL, cable modem, or T1).
2. A screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher.
Registration
Each person who wants to take the class must register. Class size is limited to give participants the individual attention they need. Registration is required at least 72 hours before the class. You can cancel your registration up to 72 hours before the class without penalty. No-shows will be billed.
