Yes, they are. Because we have a stellar relationship with IBM, we get an early ship version of new OS releases. We go through regression testing to make sure everything continues to work as it should. We pride ourselves on completing this testing and making any needed product updates before the new release becomes generally available.

Yes, Robot/SAVE “sees” the Crossroads SPHiNX device as another tape drive or AML attached to the System i.

How do you configure the Crossroads SPHiNX virtual tape library in Robot/SAVE?
You configure the Crossroads SPHiNX virtual tape library as an IBM 3584 AML. It does not require any special setup. To Robot/SAVE, the device is treated just like a physical tape drive.

How do you add volumes when using the Crossroads SPHiNX virtual tape library?
To add additional media volumes to the Crossroads SPHiNX virtual tape library, simply use its Web interface. After you complete this task, run the RBSAMLLRN command on the System i to initialize and add the new media to Robot/SAVE.
