Robot/SCHEDULE Enterprise adds built-in, secure file transfers
Help/Systems, the world’s leader in software solutions for Power Systems running IBM i, announces an update to Robot/SCHEDULE Enterprise, the enterprise job scheduling software. Robot/SCHEDULE Enterprise now includes built-in functionality to transfer files across your enterprise securely.
Built-in file transfers allow you to transfer files across your enterprise easily and securely, using FTPS, or without security using FTP. The easy-to-use built-in function builder sets up the file and directory information, and Robot/SCHEDULE Enterprise adds the appropriate FTP command to the job.
When you create a job in Robot/SCHEDULE, you can have the job use a Robot/SCHEDULE Enterprise agent to transfer as many files as you want. When the Robot/SCHEDULE command executes, the Robot/SCHEDULE agent you selected runs the FTP process. Use this process to PUT or GET data to any IP address on the planet.
Robot/SCHEDULE Enterprise allows you to automate job scheduling and event monitoring on your UNIX, Linux, Windows, and IBM i servers. You control these activities from your PC using familiar Robot/SCHEDULE features, including the Robot/SCHEDULE Explorer, job completion history, Schedule Activity Monitor, job schedule list, and more.
You can monitor servers for events such as the creation, deletion, or modification of a file or directory; whether a file is growing; when services start or end; and create your own monitored events. These events then can be used for event-driven job scheduling in Robot/SCHEDULE. For example, a file arriving on a Windows server can launch a process on another Windows server, which can then start a job on a System i.
