February 2009 Q&A

What’s going on with Help/Systems license codes?
Help/Systems is in the process of shifting from 40-character license codes to 55-character license codes. Most Help/Systems products now use a 55-character license code. If you are still on a 40-character license code, the next time you update a product or convert to a new version, you will need the new longer license code to make the product run.

Note: This change does not affect Robot/AUTOTUNE, Robot/MONITOR, and Robot/LPAR. To check your license code:

  • Enter RBO on a command line to display the Robot Automated Operations Solution panel.
  • Press function key 10, Robot Versions, to display the Installed Help/Systems Products panel.
  • Enter a 1, License Code Entry, next to the product you are updating or converting.

Check the code length on the product License Setup panel. (Tip: Use Data Entry Mode to display it in 5-character blocks). If your current code is 40 characters, call Help/Systems at (952) 933-0609 to request a new 55-character code for your product before performing your update or conversion.

Following the update or conversion, the license code field will allow entry of the new 55-character code.

What version of Robot/SCHEDULE is compatible with V6R1?
Compatibility with V6R1 is listed on Help/Systems Web site under Support > Current Versions. For Robot/SCHEDULE, this page indicates version 10 modification level 15 (or higher) is needed. There is also a link on that page to a Help/FACTS that has more information on V6R1 compatibility.
