Robot/ALERT RBASNDMSG command enhanced

Simplifies subject line entry

When the Robot products use Robot/ALERT to send you e-mail notifications, they supply the subject line automatically. However, if you use the Robot/ALERT Send a Message to a Device (RBASNDMSG) command in your own programs, or otherwise make it available to your users, you can now supply your own subject line for e-mail messages. You must be using Robot/ALERT 5.45 (or higher) to have this option.

When you prompt the RBASNDMSG command and enter the device ID for an e-mail device, Robot/ALERT recognizes that you are sending an e-mail message and provides the option for attachments on the first panel of the command. If you page down to the second panel, you now see an area to enter a subject line.

If the e-mail device is a one-way device, the new subject parameter becomes the subject line. If the e-mail device is defined as a two-way device, Robot/ALERT automatically includes identifying information at the start of the subject line to facilitate the handling of responses. There are other ways you can customize the subject line in Robot/ALERT. Contact Technical Support if you are interested in learning more.
