August Q&A Column
Can Robot/CONSOLE monitor a job queue and notify me if there are too many jobs in it?
Yes. From the System Setup Menu, choose Option 9, Resource Maintenance. When the Maintain Resources panel displays, press function key 6 to add a new resource. When the Add Resource window displays, enter a 1 next to JOBQ. When the Maintain Resource panel displays, enter an expected status of Depth. In the threshold field, indicate the maximum number of jobs allowed in the job queue before message JBQ0003 is sent to the RBCRSCQ message queue.
Then, set up a message set to escalate message JBQ0003 to a Robot/ALERT device, the Robot/NETWORK Status Center, or as a break message to the operator.
Here is a sample of the message sent:
JBQ0003: JOBQ QBATCH Library QGPL actual depth of 3 exceeded the threshold of 2 for expected status DEPTH.
Can I set up a group profile as a user for Robot/SECURITY’s Profile Exchange?
Yes. For example, you might define a group profile ADMIN and map it to exchange to QSECOFR. Anyone who is part of the ADMIN group would be allowed to exchange to
QSECOFR. Robot/SECURITY performs the normal notifications and approvals for profile exchanges and maintains the history of the exchange.
I created a SEQUEL script that includes the REPORT command, but the report doesn’t display automatically. How can I make it display?
Use the REPORT command with the OUTQ parameter and a value of *NONE to force the report to display:
REPORT REPORT(SEQUELEX/CUSTLISTR) OUTQ(*NONE)
