Transform i5/OS spooled files and IFS file output into PDF

Robot/TRANSFORM monitors output queues and IFS directories for the files you want to process, then converts these files to PDF and distributes them to the IFS directories you specify. You also can e-mail converted files to your users, who can view them on any PC, laptop, or PDA. Robot/TRANSFORM:

Flexible Transformation Options
Robot/TRANSFORM transforms spooled and IFS files to PDF format three different ways: on demand; using a monitor job to transform selected files as they are created; or through commands that automate the transformation. Whichever transformation method you use, the resulting PDF files are text-based, not images, so they can be searched and indexed using Adobe's products, yet the files include all the barcodes, graphics, and logos in the original file.

Flexible Distribution Options
Robot/TRANSFORM can distribute your transformed files to custom distribution lists automatically. And, using Robot/ALERT, our system-event notification software, you can send your files automatically to your users, who can view the files instantly on a laptop, PC, or PDA.

PC Interface
Robot/TRANSFORM features an easy-to-use PC interface that allows you to specify which output queues and IFS directories to monitor, which spooled files or IFS files to process, and how to transform them. And, Robot/TRANSFORM features name templates that allow you to use a large variety of file naming variables, such as text, file name, file extension, creation date and time, and more. These templates allow Robot/TRANSFORM to generate unique and identifiable names, automatically, for each PDF as it is created.

Robot/ALERT

• Use Robot/TRANSFORM with Robot/ALERT, the paging and e-mail messaging software, to e-mail spooled files and IFS files that have been converted to PDF to your users or customers automatically. Or, use Robot/ALERT to notify users that a file has been converted to PDF and placed in the IFS. Either way you use Robot/ALERT, users have instant access to the most up-to-date information in a secure and easy-to-use format. You save your users time when they don’t have to wait for critical files and you save the money it takes to print and distribute the files.

Robot/REPORTS

• Use Robot/TRANSFORM with Robot/REPORTS, the report distribution, archiving, and viewing software, to burst larg reports by customer number, invoice number, and more. After a forms package graphic is applied to each section, Robot/TRANSFORM can convert each ASCII spooled file into PDF and distribute it to the IFS. Or, use Robot/ALERT, to notify users that the files are in the IFS or e-mail the files to users and customers automatically.
• Use Robot/REPORTS to archive ASCII, AFP, and SCS spooled files to save media. This allows for secure retention of the reports that you must keep for months or years.

Robot/SCHEDULE

• Use Robot/TRANSFORM with Robot/SCHEDULE, the job scheduling and batch management software, to automate the Robot/TRANSFORM commands. Start and stop output queue monitoring jobs, convert files to PDF, and distribute files—error-free and hassle-free with Robot/SCHEDULE. You save precious time and your operators are free to work on other tasks.
• Use Robot/TRANSFORM with the Robot/SCHEDULE SAP Interface to convert SAP output into PDF. SAP generates ASCII output in PCL format. Robot/TRANSFORM converts this output into PDF, making it easy for SAP users to distribute converted files to internal users, customers, vendors, and so on—quickly and easily. All your users need to view, index, and search SAP files converted to PDF files is the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. Robot/SCHEDULE and the Robot/SCHEDULE SAP Interface are licensed separately.
