Are you ready when IBM i 7.1 ships on April 23? We are!

A new level of the IBM i operating system, 7.1, ships on April 23, 2010. If you’re an early adopter and you’re wondering whether Help/Systems is ready, the answer is YES!
Over the past 20 years, we have seen many versions of the operating system. During that time, our team has maintained a remarkable track record of always being ready to support the latest and greatest level that IBM delivers. And 7.1 is no exception—we are ready.
It makes me really proud of our Product Support and Development teams that work the extra hours testing and certifying our products against these new releases. Our teams have to check all of our product lines—Robot, SEQUEL Software, PowerTech, and Bytware—to make sure they are ready. And, we usually find a few issues along the way. This time around, JAVA changed on IBM i and you should contact our Technical Support to make sure you understand these changes.
Speaking of that, with each new operating system level, I recommend that you call or e-mail Technical Support to see what changes you may need to make before you make your move. We are excited about keeping our products ready and up to the latest levels. When you contact our team, we make sure you receive any documentation or procedures that you need to follow, ahead of time.
So, hats off to IBM. This spring we get both new hardware, the Power 7, and a new level of the operating system, 7.1. They continue to invest research and development into the hardware and software that is near and dear to our hearts. Bring on IBM i version 7.1—we’re ready!
