Robot/SCHEDULE’s SAM I Am!
SAM I am. I can show jobs. I can control jobs. Status updates are good. I am SAM. I’m talking about Robot/SCHEDULE’s Schedule Activity Monitor, or SAM, and its recent enhancements.
SAM already shows all of your forecasted, running, and completed jobs in a single window. With Robot/SCHEDULE 11, we’re providing some enhancements. Now, forecasted jobs are updated automatically as jobs run. And, running jobs change color, or fall off the list completely—it’s your choice. Plus, these jobs are updated with the current submitted job number, user, and name. And, there's more.
EVERY-type jobs are handy for running interval-oriented jobs, but they can clutter SAM. Now, you can include or exclude EVERY-type jobs from the forecast. Using SAM’s Preferences options, you can change what displays on the window.
Have you ever wondered where your OPAL-Delayed jobs go? Technically, we create a temporary job that's visible in several places in the Robot/SCHEDULE Explorer or on the Job Schedule List window. Well, we‘ve enhanced SAM’s Executing column to show OPAL-Delayed jobs. (These jobs show up with a submitted-type status because they're not currently running, but it’s nice to see what's happening.)
If you have Robot/SCHEDULE and you haven’t tried SAM, you should. It’s a great part of the Robot/SCHEDULE Explorer.
Oh, and that reminds me: Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! I think I‘ll go have some green eggs and ham.
