Robot and High Availability

Many of you have been working with our products and various High Availability (HA) products over the years with great success.

You can replicate the Robot Automated Operations Solution, and it also can be the main tool to automate your HA solutions. Many customers use Robot/SCHEDULE to automate the switchover. They use Robot/SCHEDULE on the target system to execute the necessary commands to ensure a consistent approach to the switching.

Customers also use Robot/CONSOLE on the target server to make sure all of the HA products are up and all critical resources are available. There is nothing worse than switching to the HA system, only to find out that you are low on disk space, or that a job you need hasn't been running so your server hasn't applied necessary journal changes. With any system management tool, you have to figure out what you need to run productively and what you need to replicate it. To do both, you must be able to replicate the product to a different library name.
