Can You Read This? Robot/SCHEDULE Can!

It never ceases to amaze me how many millions of jobs Robot/SCHEDULE runs worldwide each day with complete reliability. And, I love it when someone says they probably have the most complicated environment Robot/SCHEDULE has ever seen. Well, as is obvious from this Robot/SCHEDULE Blueprint (thank you Pete Palmeri from ITT), Robot/SCHEDULE loves a challenge. It automates the most difficult situations and really is the data center’s best friend.

For those who don’t know, Robot/SCHEDULE Blueprints are a powerful tool that let you display and document your job schedule graphically. You can use a blueprint to see the relationships between jobs (including group membership and reactivity) and determine the effect that new jobs or changes will have on your schedule before the changes are applied.

As you can see here, there are some very large and complicated IBM i batch environments (last year, one customer ran almost 9 million jobs through Robot/SCHEDULE). Robot/SCHEDULE not only runs and flowcharts their schedules, it maintains a complete job history and management-level reports to help customers pass audits easily.

After more than a quarter of a century of using and working on Robot/SCHEDULE, I think it’s safe to say that Robot/SCHEDULE has never met an automation challenge it couldn’t handle.
