Help/Systems, LLC has an opportunity for a Product Test Engineer in its Eden Prairie corporate office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Quality Assurance test plans and sessions for testing new software releases in an agile development environment.
  • Execute test plans and sessions using exploratory testing approach, assuring adequate coverage in all stages of testing.
  • Communicate and report on testing progress.
  • Participate in design reviews for enhancements, new features and new products.
  • Drive the Quality Assurance test phase.
  • Work with Software Engineers and Technical Consultants to guarantee delivery of a quality product.
  • Work with Technical Writers for documentation preparation.
  • Collaborate with management to facilitate continuous improvement of the development process.
Requirements: 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years prior work experience in software quality assurance, preferably in an agile development environment.
  • Experience testing software products on IBM i is required.
  • Experience in the following areas is a plus:
  • Exploratory testing
    • Session-based test management
    • Browser interface testing
    • Test automation
    • Scripting languages (shell, bat, Perl, Ruby, etc.)
    • Bug tracking software, specifically Bugzilla
    • UNIX, Linux, Windows system administration
  • A BS/BA required.
  • Excellent testing knowledge
  • Ability to use and apply latest testing technology
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies with ability to leverage at all stages of product development
  • Proficient in planning, writing, and executing test specifications.
  • Excellent problem resolution, judgment and decision making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong quality and risk quantification skills
  • Ability to translate abstract concepts into concrete, testable, measurable items
  • Detail oriented
